TEENAGER FOUND DEAD IN NEWARK VICTIM: HARAN EDWARD On June 20, 2003, Haran Edward's body was found behind bushes in the vicinity of 110 Edison Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. The victim was last seen at his home on West Kinney Street around 10:30 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2003. The victim was 13 years old, approximately 5'4" tall, 130 pounds, thin build, with brown eyes and black hair worn in a short afro. He was wearing a black leather jacket, a grey hooded Yankee sweatshirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. DECEASED WOMEN FOUND IN TWO VACANT RESIDENCES IN EAST ORANGE
The deceased bodies of two women were found at two seperate residences in East Orange in July and August of 2004. On July 23, 2004, the deceased body of Chandra Butler, age 38 of Newark, was found in the rear yard of a vacant residential property at 130 South Munn Street. The Essex County Medical Examiners report indicated that Butler died from strangulation and blunt force trauma. On August 17, 2004, the body of an unidentified female was found within a boarded up property at 34 Linden Avenue. The Medical Examiners report is still pending. It is not known if the two cases are related. GARY BUTLER HOMICIDE On February 26, 1996 twenty-five year old Manville resident, Gary Butler was found dead in a retention pond on North Main St in Manville near the border of Bridgewater and the Raritan River. The cause of death as reported by the Regional Medical Examiners Office was multiple blunt force trauma. The investigation revealed that the victim had been at Perhach’s Bar on Main St. in Manville earlier in the evening on February 25th shooting pool with several of the bar’s regular patrons. After leaving the bar sometime after midnight he walked a friend home and then returned to the Chester House where he rented a room on the second floor. Sometime between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. the victim managed to travel to the town of Bound Brook. The investigation reveals that Butler was apparently returning to Manville from Bound Brook when he was assaulted.

Murder of a 73 Year Old Gentleman

Date of Crime: February 9, 1993 Location of Crime : 916 Genesse Street Trenton, NJ Time: 9:15 AM Race/Sex: White, Male Age: 73 Years Old
On February 9th, 1993 at approximately 9:15 AM, Joseph Dill answered a knock at his front door. Two men posing as Water Department workers forced their way into the house and sprayed a substance into the victim's face. The victim was then hit over the head and forced down into the basement of his residence.
The victim stated that he escaped from the basement and hurriedly went through his home to see what was taken and discovered that his Roman coin collection was missing. Mr. Dill then went to a neighbor's home to call the police and report the incident.
Joseph Dill died on February 13, 1993 from the injuries he sustained in the assault.

Murder of a 31Year Old School Teacher

Date of Crime: September 20, 1989 Location of Crime : Cost Cutters Retail Store Whitehorse-Mercerville Road Time: 8:41 PM Race/Sex: White, Female Age: 31 years old
On September 20, 1989, at approximately 8:33 PM, Marjorie Szeker exited the Cost Cutters retail store, located at 1722 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road in Hamilton Township, New Jersey. While placing the purchased items in her vehicle which was a beige 1984 Chrysler with NJ registration "M A R N", an Hispanic male approached her and demanded her purse. A struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed multiple times. The suspect entered a two tone van occupied by two Hispanic males and fled the parking lot.
At approximately 8:41 PM, the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to a call for assistance: a women bleeding and spitting up blood in the parking lot of the Cost Cutters retail store. When police arrived the victim was unconscious, bleeding profusely and being assisted by customers from the store. The victim was transported by ambulance to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton (formerly Hamilton Hospital) and later pronounced dead.

Murder of a 62 Year Old Male Resident of Passaic Street

Date of Crime: December 4, 1988 Location of Crime : Inside Of Residence on Passiac Street City of Trenton Time: Between noon on December 3, 1988 and 1:40 PM on December 4, 1988 Race/Sex: Black, Male Age: 62 years old
Victim lived alone in his residence and was last seen at non on December 3, 1988. On December 4, 1988 at 1:40 PM he was found lying face down on his living room floor in a pool of blood. The living room area evidence showed that a struggle did take place and a blunt object that could be the murder weapon was recovered with the victims blood on it.
Dr. Raafat Ahmad MD, Chief County Forensic Pathologist performed the autopsy which revealed the cause of death exsanguinations due to multiple deep lacerations to the scalp and she determined the manner of death to be Assault and Homicide.

Murder of a 74-Year Old Woman

Date of Crime: April 2, 1989 Date of Last Contact: April 2, 1989 Location of Last Contact: Princeton, New Jersey Status: Murdered Race/Sex: White, Female Age: 74 years
On Tuesday, April 4, 1989, EMILY “CISSY” STUART was found in the basement of her home, the victim of an apparent homicide. Investigation revealed that stab wounds to the back caused her death.
The victim was last seen alive on Sunday, April 2, 1989, at approximately 1600 hours, tending to her gardening. The time of death is believed to be on April 2, 1989, in the early evening hours.
The victim resided alone in a large single family home in an affluent, predominantly white, residential neighborhood. The adjacent homes are in close proximity to the victim’s and there is a reasonable amount of vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Although 74 years of age, the victim was in good mental and physical health. She was very outgoing and was a member of several different organizations
The house was found to be unlocked with no signs of forced entry. The victim’s pocketbook and wallet were in plain view, untouched, as were the jewelry and other items of value. The basement area was found locked at the time of discovery. There were no signs of a struggle or other wounds to the body. The weapon has not been recovered and the motive of the crime is unknown.

Quiana Dees
On May 2, 1992, at approximately 2:44 a.m., the Neptune Twp. Police responded to the report of a person lying in the woods in the area of Washington Avenue and Fisher Place, Neptune, NJ. Upon arrival the police found the victim, Quiana Dees, age 12, black female, lying in the wood suffering from what appeared to be a head wound. The victim was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center where it was determined that the victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The victim at that time was placed on life support. She was later pronounced dead on May 3, 1992.
Investigation revealed that the victim left her home without permission on the evening of May 1, 1992, to attend a party on Washington Avenue in Asbury Park. As noted above, she was found near dead several hours later in Neptune. Despite an intensive police investigation and several community outreach efforts, thus far no one with credible information concerning the killer's identity or who actually witnessed the shooting has come forward.
The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Neptune Twp. Police Department request the assistance of any citizen who was in the area of Washington Avenue on the date in question who may have witnessed the incident. Smita Amin Patel
Shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 1996, 35 year old Tinton Falls Resident Smita Amin Patel was murdered inside her place of business, the Little Brown Jug. This business is a convenience/grocery store located at 2040 Highway 33, Neptune City in the Gables shopping center. The Gables shopping center is diagonally across the street from Jersey Shore Medical Center.
Investigation revealed that the victim and her husband were co-owners of this convenience store. The victim was working alone in the store, and between approximately 9:50 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. she was attacked by somebody in the store and she was stabbed multiple times. Some money was stolen during the course of the attack. The victim was discovered by a customer and police investigation commenced immediately.
Investigation thus far has failed to reveal any witnesses to this event. However, the Gables shopping center is a particularly busy strip mall and it is believed that there may be many citizens with knowledge as to this incident. The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and the Neptune City Police Department request the assistance of any citizen who was in the Gables shopping center on the date and time in question who may have seen anything which could be relevant to this investigation. Hae Sook Lee
At approximately 11:15 a.m. on July 3, 1996, 37 year old Hae Sook Lee was found stabbed to death in her business, the A&J Sneaker Store, located at 43A Broad St., Red Bank.
Investigation of this matter revealed that the victim and her husband were co-owners of this retail footwear store, which is located in the heart of Red Bank's downtown shopping district. On the morning of July 3rd, the victim was working alone in the store when she was attacked and stabbed to death. Her body was found in the back of the store by a store employee at approximately 11:15 a.m. Robbery may have been the motive for the attack.
July 3, 1996, was the date of Red Bank's Independence Day celebration, which was marked by a fireworks display in the evening. During much of the day the downtown area was congested with shoppers, store owners, delivery men and those who arrived early for that evening's festivities. It is very likely that many people were in the vicinity of the A&J Sneaker Store, or even possibly in the store to shop or browse, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on this date. These individuals may have information concerning this matter that could prove useful to the police.
Anyone with information concerning the death of Hae Sook Lee, or who may have been in or around the A&J Sneaker Store on the morning of July 3, 1996, is urged to call Detective Sgt. Jose R. Sanchez Composite Sketch The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in the homicide of Jose R. Sanchez, which occurred on the Boardwalk in Keansburg, New Jersey on July 2, 2000. The suspect is described as: * A Black/Hispanic Male * 5'8" to 6'00" Tall * Muscular Build * Short Hair * Hoop ear-ring at mid-line of right ear * Last seen wearing: An Orange or Coral Tank top shirt, shorts, and sneakers * A baseball cap (blue or purple) The suspect was last seen entering a late model Mitsubishi SUV, black in color with a spare tire mounted on the right rear of the vehicle. The vehicle has a "Brush Bar" mounted on the front. The vehicle displayed a New York license plate. Another Black/Hispanic male and an olive skinned Hispanic female, thin build, accompanied the suspect. 11/12/96 Richard Breitbarth On Tuesday, November 12, 1996, Richard J. Breitbarth, age 48, was murdered in Whippany, NJ. His body was discovered at approximately 8:45 p.m. lying in the street near his home at 17 Baird Place, Whippany, NJ. Mr. Breitbarth had been shot several times with a firearm. The investigation revealed that Mr. Breitbarth had been killed between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m. A sales receipt discovered in his vehicle revealed that he had made a purchase at 8:25 p.m. at the Pathmark Supermarket located at the intersection of Route 46 and Beverwyck Road in Parsippany, NJ. Mr. Breitbarth was the president of Biophase Systems, Inc. in Parsippany. His company produced vitamins and food supplements.

8/2/95 Debra A. Walton On Wednesday, August 2, 1995 at approximately 12:20 p.m., the victim, Debra A. Walton, Paterson, NJ, age 34, was discovered deceased in the Frassetto Industrial Park, Borinski Road and Frassetto Way, Lincoln Park, NJ. The victim was last known to be alive on Friday, 7/28/95 at approximately 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Passaic Street & Cianci Street, Paterson, NJ. She was last seen wearing a pink sleeveless V-Neck sweater, black skirt, pink 6-inch platform shoes, a rolled scarf across her forehead (like a headband) and was carrying a black purse with a long strap. The victim was a known prostitute who died as a result of Blunt Trauma.

5/17/94 Reginald "Buck" Montgomery On Tuesday, May 17, 1994, at approximately 10:38 p.m., the Lincoln Park Police Department was contacted by a witness who reportedly observed the victim, Reginald "Buck" Montgomery, E. 159th Street, Bronx, NY, age 25, lying alongside the roadway on Beaverbrook Road, Lincoln Park, NJ. The victim's body was discovered south of the Lincoln Park Airport and the victim was seen alive on 5/17/94 at approximately 7:00 p.m. while allegedly traveling in Harlem, NY with a friend. The victim went by the nickname, "Buck" and had died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was a black male, 25 years of age, 5'9" in height, 150 lbs., with short black hair and brown eyes. He was found wearing dark green trousers, a white sweatshirt, white sneakers, white socks and a black leather cap. The victim may have been traveling in a burgundy-colored Toyota Land Cruiser with CT license plates on 5/17/94 prior to his death.

3/6/93 Elbrous Evdoev On Saturday, March 6, 1993 at approximately 4:41 p.m., the victim, Elbrous Evdoev, AKA "Oslan or Ostep," LKA 3710 Laurel Avenue, Sea Gate, Brooklyn, NY, age 32, was discovered deceased lying over a slight embarkment at the far end of the parking lot at G.I. Auto Parts, Inc. (auto salvage), 85 Old Bloomfield Avenue, Pine Brook, NJ. The victim, born in Odessa, Russia had been discovered fully clothed and died as a result of gunshot wounds. The victim, a CheChen, was last seen alive at his residence at approximately 8:20 p.m. on 2/15/93 and was the self-appointed President of VIP International, 2163 E 7th Street at Avenue "U", Brooklyn, NY. The victim was suspected to be involved in extortion, black market sales, prostitution, rape, false marriages and other criminal activity and had ties to Russian Organized Crime.
