Victim: Diane Lynn Miller age 22 at the time of her death. Police Case 1978-107700 On November 24th, 1978 Diane Miller’s body was found on Route # 3 between Route # 648 and Dorsey Road in the Glen Burnie area of Anne Arundel County. Diane Miller was known to routinely hitchhike. She was missing from her father’s home in Glen Burnie since November 14th, 1978. Police Case 1986-186685 On December 2nd 1986 the body of two-year old Quaniece Orange was found by her mother in the bedroom of their apartment in Glen Burnie. Victim: Oscar Approx. 20- to 30-years of age in 1985, at the time of the murder. Police Case 1985-055625 On April 23rd, 1985, the decomposed remains of a human body were found during the excavation of the construction site of the Marley Station Mall in Glen Burnie, Md. The body was found in a metal trash container. Examinations revealed the remains were that of a white male in his mid 20’s, approx. 5’8” to 5’11” tall slim build with brown hair. He was wearing a blue and black sweater, slacks and leather shoes. It was estimated that the victim was deceased for approximately five months. The image listed in this profile is the result of skull reconstruction produced by the Maryland State Police, Crime Lab Division. The case is still open and Detectives are seeking information from additional witnesses. Victim: Lamarst Alexander Porter M-B, DOB: 10/08/1984 Police Case 2003-739810 On September 18, 2003 at approximately 1:00 a.m. officers from the Anne Arundel County Police Department responded to the 1700 block of Severn Tree Blvd., Severn, Maryland, in reference to a shooting and possible abduction. Officers had determined that Lamarst Porter had been shot and abducted. Porter was last seen in the company of two black males who are believed to have forced Porter in to his 1991 Lincoln Mark VII bearing Maryland tag LJT-033 and fled the area. Evidence at the scene indicates that Porter was fatally injured. Porter’s vehicle was recovered in the Glen Burnie area a few days after the incident. The case is still open and Detectives are seeking information from additional witnesses. Image: Nicholas David Tonic Victim: Nicholas David Tonic M-B, DOB: 02/07/1985 Police Case 2003-752719 On December 10, 2003, the Anne Arundel County Police Department took a missing person report for Nicholas David Tonic. Investigation revealed the Tonic was last seen on December 5, 2003, leaving his residence at 1700 Sea Pine Circle, Severn, Maryland. On December 10, 2003 Tonic’s red 1991 Ford Escort bearing Maryland tag LRN-145 was recovered abandoned in the 8100 block of Fruitful Court, Glen Burnie, Maryland. Evidence from the car showed that Tonic was a victim of a serious assault. On January 23, 2004, Nicholas David Tonic was found deceased in the 7500 block of Teague Road, Hanover, Maryland. Tonic suffered trauma to his upper torso and his death was ruled a homicide. The case is still open and Detectives are seeking information from additional witnesses. Joanne S. Valentine On September 26, 1993, JOANNE S. VALENTINE was fatally shot outside her home on Broadwater Road, Arnold, Maryland. Mrs. Valentine was the victim of a homicide. JOANNE S. VALENTINE was a white female, 47-years of age, with blonde, shoulder-length hair. Mrs. Valentine was an owner and operator of the Rumblefish Bar in Glen Burnie and A.L. Gators Bar in Pasadena. Mrs. Valentine was just arriving home from work at approximately 4:00 a.m. when she was accosted in her driveway. Lois was last seen by her grandmother on February 2nd 1974. Witnesses reported last seeing Lois on February 3rd at her house in Olney, Maryland. The body of Lois Williams was found in a wooded area near White Avenue in Linthicum, Md. A suspicious vehicle described as dark colored two-door Volkswagen was observed in the area where the body was recovered. Lois Williams worked at the CSC Corporation in Silver Spring Maryland. Victim: Unknown Asian Male, estimated to be 25- to 35-years old at the time of the murder. Police Case 1993-744750 On November 16th, 1993 at approx. 3:56 p.m. the body of an Asian male was found in a wooded area on Lower Pindell Road in the Lothian area of Anne Arundel County. A check of all the police departments in the Baltimore and Washington area for missing persons reports failed to develop anyone matching the description of our victim. Victim:Unknown Date:November 1989 Case Number: 89-23413
On Friday, November 10, 1989, skeletal remains were found on Right Hand Fork Road at the Watershed in Frederick. The remains appear to be that of male, approximately 25 to 40 years of age, small to medium build. The estimated time of death was between November of 1988 and July of 1989. The individual sustained a broken nose approximately one year before his death.

Victim: Alexander Pace Folger Description: Caucausian/Male/22 years of age Date: August 22, 1993 Case Number: 93-26126 On Sunday, August 22, 1993 at 6:10 am, deputies responded to the location of Old Frederick Road south of Old Mill Road in Rocky Ridge and found Mr. Folger deceased in the roadway. It appeared that he was struck by a vehicle while walking along the southbound lane of Old Frederick Road. Investigation revealed that Mr. Folger left a party at a house in the 13000 block of Old Frederick Road sometime after 3:00 am and walked about a ¼ mile south down Old Frederick Road when he was struck from behind by a red passenger vehicle. A newspaper carrier discovered Mr. Folger’s body at 5:26 am. Mr. Folger died of severe head and chest injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Victim: Joshua Wayne Crawford Description:Caucasian/Male/21 years of age Date:July 2, 2003 Case Number: 03-104309 On Wednesday, July 2, 2003, Joshua Wayne Crawford was found murdered in his apartment at 6949 Exeter Court at Kingsbrook Apartments in Frederick. Mr. Crawford was found bound with duct tape when deputies responded at 12:42 pm. The cause of death was ruled asphyxiation. The crime appeared to be victim specific and upon investigation, it was determined that a Peavey 6 String Predator Electric Guitar with a hunter green base, chrome, a black neck and whammy bar was missing from the apartment.

OPEN HOMICIDES
The Frederick Police Department continues efforts to solve recent and cold case homicides. Periodically new detectives are assigned to existing cases with the intension that new eyes may uncover new evidence. Also, the continuing evolution of forensic technology may produce new leads that may result in new evidence or create new solvability factors.
CLOSED BY ARREST The shooting homicide of John Earl Hill Jr, which took place in the early morning hours of August 30, 2000 near the intersection of Sagner and Maryland Avenues, was closed by the Frederick Police Department on January 24, 2005 with the arrest of Tieray Dawayne Jones. Mr. Jones was arrested and indicted while already incarcerated in the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on charges unrelated to the Hill homicide. ********************************************** CASE #: 1974-6416

At approximately 0545 hours Saturday morning June 29, 1974, a citizen residing in the 300 block of Upper College Terrace heard a moaning sound outside his home. Looking out, he observed a tall slim figure “half running” past his residence southbound toward Rockwell Terrace. He then located an unconscious victim on the sidewalk directly in front of 305 Upper College Terrace. Found near the victim was her dead thingyer spaniel. The cause of death of Ms. Myers and her dog was blunt force trauma to the head. Despite an expansive and exhaustive search of the scene and surrounding neighborhoods, no weapon was recovered.

CIRCUMSTANCES
A couple searching for mushrooms in the Frederick City Watershed came upon a steamer trunk located just off a roadway. The trunk contained skeletonized human remains of a white female, 18 to 25 years of age, with dark hair. The decedent had undergone extensive dental procedures, some of which are consistent with those performed by dental students. The identity of this victim remains a mystery despite efforts by numerous detectives, forensic anthropologists, the FBI, as well as television programs including Final Justice and The New Detectives.

On the Monday following Superbowl Sunday 1988, a victim was found in her second-floor apartment at 126 South Market Street. Cause of death was determined to be asphyxiation by strangulation. The victim’s apartment displayed no sign of forced entry. Ms. Thompson was well known and well liked in her neighborhood. Despite extensive investigation, no suspect has been identified.

The victim, working alone on a Wednesday evening in a women’s clothing store in a local shopping center, was found by a security guard. She had last been seen alive at approximately 8:45 PM and her body was found at 10:50 PM. The victim had been stabbed multiple times and robbery is not believed to have been the motive. This investigation has been profiled on the television program “Unsolved Mysteries.”

The victim’s body was found in a grove of pine trees next to Rosemont Avenue. The cause of death was determined to be multiple close contact gunshot wounds. Residents reported hearing noise that could have been gunshots at approximately 2:00 AM that Monday morning. The victim’s body was discovered at 12:29 PM. The investigation determined that this homicide was drug related.

The victim was found seated in a vehicle that had drifted into another parked vehicle on Dill Avenue. Shots were heard at approximately 02:45 AM on that Tuesday and the cause of death was later determined as multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses reported seeing a “muscular” African-American male running down an adjacent street shortly after shots were heard. A small red compact vehicle was also seen leaving the area at the time.

CIRCUMSTANCES
The victim’s body was discovered under a carpet blanket in a wooded area adjacent to Interstate Route 70. Cause of death was asphyxiation by strangulation. The victim was last seen at approximately 1:30 PM on October 1, 1996. The next day, October 2, a missing person report was filed. During the three-month period after the victim was reported missing, several unconfirmed sightings were reported. However, investigators believe that the victim was murdered on the day she disappeared. The asphyxiated victim was found within walking distance of her residence in an area frequented by homeless and transient persons.

CIRCUMSTANCES
While riding a bicycle from South Market Street onto West All Saint’s Street, the victim was attacked and stabbed in the chest at 12:30 AM, Saturday morning, June 30, 2001. The victim continued riding westbound until collapsing immediately east of Court Street. The cause of death was a stab wound to the heart. A suspect who fled from the stabbing was described as an African-American male, late 20’s to early 30’s. No known witnesses to this stabbing have been identified.

VICTIM: WILLIAM FRANCIS ADAMS
DESCRIPTION: MALE/ BLACK/ AGE 23
CIRCUMSTANCES
The victim was attacked by two or three black males at approximately 9:30 PM on Saturday 4, 2003, near the side of Building J of Country Hill Apartments, 1000 Heather Ridge Drive. His assailants wore black hoods and dark clothing. During the attack the victim received a single gunshot to the back of the head at close range. Death was instantaneous. No witnesses have come forward and the homicide remains under close investigation.
