Homicide Investigation Tammy J Zywicki - Interstate Highway 44 (I-44) in rural Lawrence County, Missouri, which is located between Springfield and Joplin, Missouri Tammy J. Zywicki Name: Tammy J Zywicki Race: White Gender: Female Date of Birth: March 13, 1971 Height: 5'2" Weight: 120 Hair: Blond Eyes: Green On August 23, 1992, Tammy J. Zywicki departed Evanston, Illinois, for college in Grinnell, Iowa, where she was expected to arrive that evening. Later that day, Zywicki's car was found by an Illinois State Trooper and ticketed as being abandoned. On August 24, 1992, the vehicle was towed by the Illinois State Police. On that same evening, Zywicki's mother contacted the Illinois State Police and advised them that her daughter had not arrived at college. On September 1, 1992, Zywicki's body was located along Interstate Highway 44 (I-44) in rural Lawrence County, Missouri, which is located between Springfield and Joplin, Missouri. She had been stabbed to death. Zywicki was reportedly last seen with her car (shown below) on Interstate 80 at mile marker 83 in LaSalle County, Illinois, between 3:10 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on August 23, 1992. It was also reported that a tractor/trailer was seen near Zywicki's vehicle during this time period. The driver of the tractor/trailer is described as a white male between 35 and 40 years of age, over six feet tall, with dark, bushy hair. Some of the victim's personal property is known to be missing, including a Cannon 35mm camera and a musical wrist watch with an umbrella on its face and it played a tune. Homicide Investigation Unidentified Female - Lebanon Road, 1/10th of a mile west of the Troy and O'Fallon Road in Jarvis Township, Collinsville, Illinois Unidentified Female Name: Unidentified Race: White Gender: Female Age Range: 25-40 Height: 5'4"-5'6" Weight: 120-130 Hair: Auburn On July 20, 1990, at 1:25 p.m., an unidentified, white female body was found in a bean field approximately 40 feet north of Lebanon Road, 1/10th of a mile west of the Troy and O'Fallon Road in Jarvis Township, Collinsville, Illinois. The victim's death resulted from multiple cutting and stab wounds to the neck and torso; her fallopian tubes, uterus and ovaries were missing. Evidence of surgical removal could not be determined. No defensive wounds were found on the victim. The body appeared to have been placed at the site two to three days prior to discovery. Homicide Investigation Kathleen A. Goebeler - I-88 is an east/west toll way which connects the Quad Cities with Chicago, Illinois (very rural in nature). Near Milepost 28.5, off of I-88 Kathleen Goebeler Name: Kathleen A. Goebeler A.K.A. Kathleen Johnson Race: White Gender: Female Date of Birth: November 12, 1956 Height: 5'01" Weight: 105 Hair: Brown Eyes: Green On 5/20/86, Illinois State Police (ISP) District 01 responded to an area of abandoned railroad tracks located on the south side of I-88, milepost 28.5, wherein a citizen had discovered the decomposed skeletal remains of a white female now identified as Kathleen A. Goebeler, DOB: 11-12-1956, 5'01", 105 pounds. Kathleen's maiden name is Johnson. Her last known address was Mckees Rocks, Pennsylvania, which is a subrub of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Kathleen was last seen between April 11th and 18th, 1986, in Mckees Rocks, Pennsylvania. It is known that Goebeler would hitch-hike as a means of transportation. Goebeler was known to have worked in strip clubs in the Pittsburgh, Pa. area, Atlantic City, New Jersey area and possibly the northwest West Virginia area. Geographic information regarding the area wherein the female was found: I-88 is an east/west toll way which connects the Quad Cities with Chicago, Illinois (very rural in nature). This location was approximately 120 miles west of Chicago. At the time of death, I-88 was still Illinois Route 5, a four lane highway. The body was found approximately 45' south of the roadway across a barbed wire fence in a sparsely wooded area. The photo included with this Unsovled Crime information is a reconstructed photo. Homicide Investigation Carol Rofstad - 602 S. Fell Street - Normal, Illinois - $1,000.00 Reward Carol Rofstad Name: Carol Rofstad Race: White Gender: Female Date of Birth: March 10, 1954 Height: 5'4" Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue Carol Rofstad, who was 21 when she was killed, lived in Normal, IL while attending Illinois State University. She was found beaten unconscious about noon December 23, 1975, outside her sorority house at 602 S. Fell Street. The suspected murder weapon, an 18-inch piece of railroad tie, was found nearby. Rofstad wasn't found until roughly 12 hours after the attack. She died Christmas Eve as a result of head injuries. Two men, one of whom carried a club, were seen between 10 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. on December 22, 1975. Both were white males and between the ages of 18 and 25. The composite at right is for, Suspect #1, the suspect carrying the club. At the time of the attack, most students had already left campus for the holiday break. Instead of returning to Elk Grove Village, though, Rofstad had stayed in the Twin Cities to work at a retail store. Money was found in her purse and there was no evidence of sexual assault. Two women, in the sorority house, neither saw nor heard anything unusual. Sandra Allard Age 43 Date of homicide: October, 1993 The body of Sandra Allard was found by firefighters who were responding to a fire in her York Township town home. While inside fighting the flames, the firefighters discovered her murdered body. Her murder remains unsolved.

Roger thingyson Age 20 Date of homicide: November, 1974 The body of Roger thingyson was found by a local resident walking on 91st Street near Cass Avenue in Downers Grove Township. An autopsy showed that Roger died of a gunshot wound. His murder remains unsolved.

Floy Walls Age 39 Date of homicide: June, 1969 The body of Floy Walls was found by a young boy fishing the DuPage River near Warrenville. Floy, who was a nurses aide at the DuPage County Convalescent Center, had family and many ties in the Warrenville area. Her murder remains unsolved.

Lorraine F. Beize Age 21 Date of homicide: August 31, 1982 The body of Lorraine Beize was found near the Chicago Central and Pacific railroad tracks in unincorporated Wayne Township by the Pratt's Wayne Wood Forest Preserve. She had been sexually assaulted and strangled. Her murder remains unsolved.

Donna LePore Age 32 Date of Homicide: June 7, 1985 Donna LePore's body was found by her husband in the bedroom of her Downers Grove home. She had been shot in the head. The crime occurred while her husband and their two children were out to dinner in the early evening. The front door was open, and no forced entry was evident.

Kristina Wesselman Age 15 Date of homicide: July 22, 1985 Kristina Wesselman was reported missing by her mother on July 21, 1985. Her body was found the next day just off a dirt path in Glen Ellyn located between a Jewel Food Store on Rt. 56 and Rt. 53 and the Valley View Subdivision. It is believed that she was on her way home from the Jewel when she was attacked.

Juan Carrera Age 35 Date of homicide: October 14, 1995 Juan Carrera was found shot to death inside his truck. The truck was parked behind the Speedway gas station at Lake Street and Rt. 83 in Addison.

Pending Death Investigations
Case #1- Death of Richard Neavear On July 4, 1995, the family of Richard Neavear contacted the Pekin Police Department to report their son missing. In the days following, a body, later identified as that of Richard Neavear, was discovered in a field behind Wilson School in Pekin, Illinois. Authorities are currently investigating the events surrounding this death. Case#2- Death of Beverly Swearingen In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 18, 1996, Washington Police and Fire Departments responded to a call of a house fire at 205 South High Street in Washington, Illinois. Upon arrival, officers noted fire damage to the home and the garage fully engulfed in flames. The local fire department suppressed the fire and discovered the body of Beverly Swearingen in the back seat of her vehicle. Officers are currently investigating the events surrounding this death. Case #3- Death of Mary L. Maynor On May 31, 1974, Pekin Police Department found the body of Mary L. Maynor in her apartment in Pekin, Illinois. Unsolved Murder Jamie Santos, the victim of an unsolved murderOn Monday, October 28, 1991 at 11:35am the Wheeling Police Department responded to a call of a woman not breathing. Officers soon discovered that Jamie Santos, a 27 year old female, was the victim of homicide. A male caller went to a public phone in a shopping center at Buffalo Grove Rd. and Dundee Rd. in Buffalo Grove (a few blocks from her home) and made a 911 call in order to get Jamie medical help. The caller did not identify himself. This case is still unsolved and it's unknown if the caller is the person responsible for Jamie's death or someone who simply came across a terrible crime. We are asking that you take a moment and listen to the voice of the person making the 911 call.
