GARDENA, Calif. -- Although police say they do not suspect foul play, the mother of a missing 12-year-old says she has never run away before and she is asking anyone who may know where her daughter is to please come forward.
The young girl left for school Friday morning and has not been seen since.
Seeny, 12, disappeared at some point during the half-mile walk between the hotel where she was staying with her parents and her school.
Surveillance video from the Moonlight Inn showed the girl leaving for school at 7:15 a.m. Friday.
Officials from Perry Middle School say she never made it to class that day.
The girl's parents have posted flyers and interviewed people, they said, hoping someone can lead them to their daughter.
The family said they don't believe Erica would run away, adding that she's a good student.
The girl's information has been placed on the Web site for the National Center For Missing and Exploited Children.
Erica is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Gardena Police Department.
