Unsolved Homicide
Christopher Olivas - 4/17/1999
The following is a brief synopsis of an outstanding homicide case which remains unsolved at this time (08-2000).
On April 17, 1999, officers of the Hobbs Police Department responded to 101 W. Main in reference to a stabbing victim. Victim Christopher Olivas was found outside of apartment 101 W. Main suffering from a stab wound to the neck area. Olivas was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses advised that there was a party at apartment 113 W. Main, and during the party there was a fight between Olivas and other subjects. Olivas ran out of the apartment followed by several unknown subjects. Olivas was then found with the stab wound and had expired prior to the arrival of police.
The witnesses that were interviewed at the scene all advised that they did not see Olivas get stabbed. They also advised that they did not know the subjects who were chasing Olivas. The majority of the witnesses were uncooperative with the police.
