NORMA JEAN PARKER
ONGOING DEATH INVESTIGATION
REPORTED AS MISSING PERSON
REMAINS FOUND IN THE NEVADA DESERT
The Nevada DPS Investigation Division has identified the remains of a subject located in the desert northeast of Reno, Nevada, near Limbo Mountain. The remains were identified as Norma Jean Parker.
On June 21st, 2000, Norma Jean Parker walked away from an assisted care facility in Tracy, California. Mrs. Parker was suffering from Hunnington's disease. This condition gave Mrs. Parker the appearance of being intoxicated. Mrs. Parker would suffer from the occasional convulsions, facial tremors, and walked with a gait. Mrs. Parker was a truck driver from the early 1980s through the mid 1990s, traveling mainly on the west coast between Colorado and the coast. Mrs. Parker was reported a a missing person in June of 2000. Several sightings were reported ranging from locations such as Lodi, CA; Sparks, NV; Friend, NEBRASKA; and Prinston, IL.
It is believed that Mrs. Parker would return to truck stops in an attempt to be in the company of other truck drivers and possibly a ride. Mrs. Parker smoked heavily and was very religious, possibly visiting chapels at truck stops. Mrs. Parker was last seen wearing jeans and a light colored jacket. Her physical description was 5'02", 110-115 pounds, light gray to white shoulder length hair.
