Shirley Pullen was last seen alive on December 31, 1986, 9pm, at the Save Mart Food Store, 1905 South 11th Street in Niles Township. Police were called to Shirley Pullen’s house trailer at the Windward Trailer Park, 1950 South 13th, Niles MI. on January 12th, 1987 by the park manager. The park manager advised she had not seen Mrs. Pullen and wanted to file a missing person report. During the investigation police learned that Mrs. Pullen had 2 mobile homes at this park. One she lived in and one she rented out to a handyman. This handyman used her credit card in Mishawaka, IN after she had disappeared. Mrs. Pullen’s diary also showed this same handyman extorting money from her. The only evidence left at her trailer was a half-eaten sandwich and a cigarette left to burn in an ashtray. There were no signs of a struggle and it is believed Shirley Pullen left with whomever was at her trailer the night of December 31st, 1986. Mrs. Pullen nor her remains have ever been found. Anyone with information on Shirley Pullen is asked to call the Niles Township Police Department at 269-683-1780 or Crime Stoppers @ 574-288-STOP.

Who Killed Heinrich Bachmann? Shortly before noon on August 11, 1997, Heinrich Bachmann was found shot to death in the living room of his home at 4828 Butler Street in Troy. He had spoken to his father around 6:30 p.m. the previous night. Bachmann, 42 years old at the time of his murder, was the owner of the Cass Avenue Brake Service in Pontiac. He had taken over the business from his father in 1989. It is believed that Bachmann was killed by someone known to him. He was murdered by a single gunshot to the back of his head. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. Two vehicles that he owned were left at the residence and nothing was missing from the home. Only one drawer in a bedroom appeared to have been ransacked. Robbery does not appear to be a motive. In addition to the $1,000 CrimeStoppers Alliance reward that was initially offered, the Bachmann Family is offering an additional reward of $50,000, for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the perpetrator. Anyone with any information can call CrimeStoppers Alliance at 1-800-Speak Up or Detective Don Zimmerman or Detective Dave Nordstrom at (248) 524-3453
