Over the past 24 hours, my area has received a lot of snow. I've been watching out the window as many of the people here have been getting stuck in the snow. And watching as people walk by without offering a helping hand to get these vehicles free. My other half however was very busy yesterday and early this morning going out and shoveling and pushing these cars free. The people are very very grateful for the help.
It's not much, but every little bit helps.

All it takes is a little of your time and what a diff. you can make in someone elses life. We had a neighbor who was 93 at the time, we would go over and just sit on the porch and talk, we painted her kitchen cabinets and her basement. She was so greatful she tryed to pay us but we wouldnt take the money, payment was a smile and a thank you. She is in a nursing home now and we have moved but still go over to her house and check in to see if things are ok. Loved to here her stories about anything she could remember.

Once I got caught in a rain storm with no umbrela. So one day at the dollar store I bought 8 umb. to give out to people that have been caught out in a rain storm. I get the strangest looks when I give them out. They dont know what to think at first, but once they understand that this is a act of kindness the smiles are a ray of sun shine.

I used to go to this older mans home to help him out. I would clean for him once a week and see if there was anything I could get for him from the store. I would love to sit and listen to his stories of things back in the day. Very interesting and funny man. It made me happy because he always looked forward to me coming to spend time. He has since passed on, but my memories of him will live on.

Hi all. I wanted to ask if it is out of line when you see a car actident and you get out to see if everyone is ok. and dir. traffic? We had another wreck right outside. we live on a very busy street. It bloced 3 lanes of traffic and was going to cause another wreck. With out thinking I ran outside to see if everyone was ok. Thank goodness they were just fine, the cars had to be towed. I dont want to do the job of the police, I left when they got there. Some other neighbors came to help. That is the second wreck in a week. Maybe I should take ems classes. lol

I have done the same a few times myself. Seen some people actually hit by the car when walking and ran to check them out and stayed until authorities arrived. It's a reflex with some people. Shows we care.

I thought it would be ok. I do care but dont want to get in the way of the police and hamper their job. We have alot of wrecks at that intersection just cant stand by if someone is hurt. One of the wrecks a couple of months ago the woman was stumbleing down the road. I had to run to catch her. I had her lie down intill the ems got here. She was in shock and thought the car was going to blow up. She had a small cut on her forhead but was ok. They need to do something about this inter. soon with all the wrecks.

Maybe you and your neighbors need to bring it to the attention of city officals. Maybe go to a town meeting or something and bring it up. If enough people voice their concerns over this intersection and the dangers there, they will take action.

Now there is a med buliding being built just north of us and is going to make this already very dangerous intersection even more dangerous. I am leaving for flo very soon, already packed is how soon, so I will check into it when I get back in june. If the police only knew how many people run this stop sign when they cut thru the neighborhood they would make a bunch of money on tickets. Its mostly people cutting thru the neighborhood to save some time and miss the light down the road. If they were not in such a big hurry. Some of the trouble is when people miss the entrance to the high way and make a u-turn. They need to post more signs to lead them in the right dir. I can make this a goal of mine. It might help to keep someone safer driving down this road.
