The mother of an Edmonton teen missing for nearly a week is pleading for anyone with information on the girl's whereabouts to contact police. Stephenie Paige Hope White, 14, was last seen by her mother Friday morning as she left for school at Steele Heights junior high school, 14607 59 St. "I'm not angry with her but I just want to know that she's safe and that everybody loves her," said Tammy White, who's been waiting at the family's Belvedere-area home for any news of her daughter. "I don't care what she's done or anything. The only thing that matters is she's safe." When Stephenie didn't return home from school last week, a frantic White telephoned her daughter's friends. She called police when those friends were unable to provide any helpful information. White said Stephenie, who'd been having some problems recently, has never before gone missing. It's unlikely Stephenie is carrying any extra clothes and does not have money or access to a bank account. Foul play is not suspected. "If she ran away, I believe she's scared," said White. Stephenie is described as white, five-foot-seven and approximately 160 pounds with long dark brown hair streaked blond. She has a small mole on the left side of her face near her ear and wears glasses. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black T-shirt, a red hoodie with "Canada" lettering and white skater-type runners. Her mother believes she may be carrying a dark blue and black backpack. Anyone with information on Stephenie's whereabouts is asked to contact CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or the Edmonton Police Service dispatch line at 423-4567. www.edmontonsun.com/News/Edmonton/2005/06/30/1111447-sun.html
