Ottawa police are asking for the public's help in locating a schizophrenic man who went missing nearly three weeks ago.
Ali Giamaladin, 33, who also goes by the name "Jamal Ali," was last seen by his sister on July 29 outside the Union Mission on Waller St.
Although he is not considered dangerous, police said Giamaladin has not been taking his medication since disappearing. He had no money and wasn't carrying any identification when he disappeared.
Police said Giamaladin is very quiet and won't speak unless he is spoken to. While he lived with his mother in the west end, he was known to frequent the Union Mission and Salvation Army downtown.
Giamaladin is described as 5-foot-10, 140 lbs. with short black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap and dark business suit.
Anyone with information is asked to call 236-1222, ext. 5115.
