HOUSTON -- The relatives of an 18-year-old girl, who has the mentality of an 8-year-old, asks the public for help in finding her, Local 2 reported Wednesday. Relatives said Yvette "Betsy" Bautista disappeared on July 25 from the Oaks of Brittany Apartments on Wilcrest Drive north of Briar Forest Drive in west Houston. She was last seen near East Crosstimbers Street and Curry Road in north Houston. Bautista requires special care for a medical condition called Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis, a neurological disorder characterized by inflammation of the brain and spinal cord cause by damage to the myelin sheath. Bautista is about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 210 to 230 pounds. She has curly dark brown hair and brown eyes, and moles on her right cheek and forehead. The girl was last seen wearing blue jeans and a green T-shirt. She was found in the northeast Houston area near the intersection of Curry and Crosstimbers. A woman who saw her picture on www.Click2Houston.com spotted her. Police are trying to determine where she has been since she disappeared.
